Niurka Sodupe as our Head Pro!
Niurka Sodupe began playing tennis when she was 5 years old. She was coached by world renowned tennis legend Pancho Segura. She trained at the world famous Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy among the likes of Andre Agassi, Jim Courier and Monica Seles. In 1984, as a 14 year old junior, she was ranked number 7 in the ITF junior rankings. After reaching the finals of the Junior U.S. Open in 1984, she was invited to compete in the Olympic trials. That year, tennis was going to be a demonstration sport at the Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games.
Niurka continued on to the professional WTA tour where she competed for several years, and was ranked in the top 120. She has competed all around the world, including 3 Grand Slam main draws, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open.
Because of her love, dedication, and continued success being an ambassador to the game of tennis, Niurka was awarded The United States Professional Tennis Association 2015 District Coach Of The Year.
